The Larry Nelson Classic Wrestling Tournament is a ten team dual round robin tournament held at Vacaville High School annually the weekend in December.  As one of the longest running tournaments in California, Vacaville High School has proven to provide a first class wrestling tournament.  The tournament is a two-day dual round robin format at which your team will receive 9 dual meets.  Tournament place is determined by dual record, and in the event of a tie, head to head scoring between the tied teams.  You may bring and weigh in up to three wrestlers per weight class, in order to help you manage match counts.  Over the past few years we have continually finished by 6 PM on Saturday.  Yearly the tournament features quality competition with teams from Sacramento, the East Bay Area, the Central Section, and Nevada.  Last year’s tournament featured many state place winners.  

DATE:               Friday and Saturday, December 2-3, 2011

PLACE:             Vacaville High School, 100 Monte Vista Avenue, Vacaville, CA 95688 

FORMAT:        10 team round robin- 4 duals on Friday, 5 duals on Saturday.  Wrestle everybody. 

WEIGHTS:       Scratch weights according to CIF (106, 113, 120, etc.) 

WEIGH-INS:      Friday, Dec. 2- 12:00 PM; Saturday, Dec. 3 - 8:00 AM.  in the Vacaville High Wrestling Room

WRESTLING:      Wrestling starts at 2:00 pm on Friday.  Wrestling will end approximately 7:30 or 8:00 PM. The second day of wrestling starts at 10:00 AM on Saturday.  Wrestling will finish approx. 6:00 PM. 

 AWARDS:      18 individual medals for the first 4 place teams.  There is also an all-tournament team for the best record in the weight or undefeated wrestlers.

 ENTRY FEE:       $325.00  Make checks payable to “Vacaville High School Wrestling.”
